Here is some of what the Lowcountry Companion has said…
SaraBeth’s Gifts & Home is a boutique featuring unique gifts and home accents. They are located inside The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy located in the Food Lion center at 1061 North Fraser Street in Georgetown. It may not seem a likely spot for retail but just wait until you walk inside. Several words come to mind swiftly – unpretentious, charming, colorful, welcoming and reasonably priced.
Here’s a tidbit of background. Some moons ago and more than a dozen years, Beth Ness owned Added Touch, a women’s wear shop on Front Street. But time tends to shift things up and she ultimately left the shop to tend to growing children and to help her pharmacist husband, Phillip Ness. If you’re from around here, odds are quite good you know them. The “Sara” in SaraBeth’s is the 20-year-old daughter who attends the University of South Carolina. There’s an older son, too. His name is Will Ness whose music has become popular with locals along the Grand Strand.
Anyway, Beth clearly hasn’t lost her sense of style. Previously this section of the pharmacy was dedicated to diabetic shoes and other health-related gear but the ongoing changes in Medicare and insurance frustrated her and started her wheels turning about doing something different with the space. And boy did she do it up right – with the help of Sara, that is!

however, Sarabeth’s continues to evolve…
It’s a relatively small space, but it’s so airy and colorful and just plain happy; the size serves nothing so much as cozying up the pharmacy. Beth and Sara travel each season to market in New York and Atlanta searching for different items that will interest people rather than following a certain theme. So, in order to properly describe our one-of-a-kind shop, we’re going to string a bunch of fun stuff together to get you planning a visit.
SaraBeth’s has recently transitioned to offer an array of home accessories, dinnerware pieces, clothings, handbags, and art. Therefore, this spot is a perfect place to pop-in for a gift for a special occasion! There is select glassware such as an Italian decanter paired with a set of Italian whisky glasses; or a Portuguese compote. Also featured is silver kitchenware and serving pieces by Beatriz Ball. While walking around you will notice the most beautiful lamps – talk about good taste! The clothing is selective but features the ever-popular Simply Noelle wraps (perfect for any season!) as well as the super soft and colorful Vismaya scarves. Lastly, there is a beautiful selection of handbags and jewelry that you will fall in love with. You will also enjoy lots of vases, frames, pillows, and more, more, more!
In addition, SaraBeth’s now features two coolers full of food from Get Carried Away, located in Pawleys Island, owned by the founders of Palmetto Cheese. The freezer includes picks for an easy dinner such as chicken and orzo, shrimp and crab enchiladas, beef lombardi, tomato pie (seasonal) and Myrtle’s cheese biscuits. However, Sara’s favorite is the Palmetto Mac and Cheese since it is homemade with pure palmetto cheese! There are also options for appetizers such as the king ranch dip or jalapeño popper dip. Our fresh case includes chicken salad, shrimp salad (seasonal), Palmetto cheese, and O.M.G. onion dip. And don’t think we forgot dessert – options include key lime pie, Pawleys pie, and poundcake! But, just a tip, weekly you can call our shop to special order anything that is offered at Get Carried Away in Pawleys – it’s as easy as that!
We hope you stop in soon to meet the family and browse for a bit!
With much love,
Beth and Sara Ness
